It would be an amethyst self. that is all amethyst, solid colour .
A classification of colour and pattern was used up to 1969 checklist
compilation. not used after that.
The colour classification is V1, a self. Plicatas are colour class 2.
So V2 would be a plicata with amethyst/violet patterning.
Bitones are 3, bicolours 4 and blends 5. The V stands for Violet and
shades of it such as amethyst.

Wow, that's tricky.
The description (following) doesn't say if it's in the plicata pattern
or not. ÂAll it says is "Amethyst self". ÂThere isn't even a color of
the beard or appendage.Â
I'd put a request out to the HIPS group, to see if they have a
definitive answer. Â(Sorry, but I really can't say which one is
correct!)

I googled some pictures for 'Horned Amethyst'. Only one, from Bluebird
Haven, resembles the decription, a self. The others (4) are all
plicatas.
So which is correct?
