That picture of Prank looks familiar, did you post it before? The name rings a bell too... For what it's worth I think Brash is related to something else that has been reported to be poly-tepal.
Brian, did you have a 'late' frost- a frost that perhaps 'zapped' a few stalks down in the fan? I'm working an angle on "frost related poly-tepal tendencies.
