Re: CULT: rebloom -- indoor seedling

Hi,  Should have put where I am, I seem to leave that out too often.  I am in central NM sw. of Belen in the corner of Valencia County.  After I sent the message, I did remember that one has rebloomed at the Rio Grande Botanic Garden in Albuquerque.  It is a yellow, but I need to look up the name.  It sent up two stalks, first finished two weeks ago, second was opening first flower yesterday.  There have been some light frosts in the valley (where the RGBG is), but they didn't bother the Iris, and there are still some annuals untouched there as well.

Where do you garden? My rebloomers were late this year and frost has nipped a few but they are still budding out. Also wet in the midwest so this must be the reason.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd like to see more of a swing back to this "dated" form, or even more "dated".  Some of these newer ones with "full", "rounded", or "flaring" flowers don?t even look like Iris to me anymore.  I like it.  I have lots with this form, but none of them are such a nice dark rich color.  I might add that by my old-fashioned standards, this one even looks "modern".
 
Not a single rebloom this year for me, and I've no others in the area either.  It was a very wet cool summer, and it's been a relatively cool autumn.  Wonder how that relates.

It's looking a bit perkier today, Billy  Maybe the terminal bloom was a little tired.  I can accept this flower form.  The falls have a satiny sheen.  It'll do okay as a breeder.  --  Griff
