RE: Rebloom seedling

That is a beauty also.  Does Yaquina Blue carry rebloom genes?  I have a hard time getting it go grow and bloom at all here in the desert.  I have a seedling that is an excellent repeat bloomer for me.  I call it my Faux Yaquina Blue.  Its blossoms are the same size and color and similar shape, and it grows like a weed.  Its fault is its short stalks and low bloom.  I’ve been trying to get a cross between it and the real YB.  This fall I planted them side by side.  FYB has made a healthy clump.  YB may not make it at all.

Subject: [iris-photos] Rebloom seedling

Probably one of the last reblooming seedlings we will see this year as we are expecting a hard freeze for the next couple of nights.  Yaquina Blue X Frequent Flyer, interesting chartreuse mid ribs on the standards, wide falls with overlapping shoulders.  Very thick substance and nicely ruffled (more so than in the picture).  15 buds on a well branched and spaced Web Bug from http://geo.yahoo.com/serv?s=97359714/grpId=43451/grpspId=1707632694/msgId=35457/stime=1164741143/nc1=3848604/nc2=3848446/nc3=4025323stalk.  Very vigorous.
