TB bloom season is nearly over for most people. We did a fairly late transplant of half of our stock, so will have bloom for another couple of weeks if it doesn’t all cook. Has been over 35oC (95oF) for the last few days and won’t cool down til Wednesday. However having some bloom later than usual has had it’s advantage as I’ve been able to do crosses I wouldn’t normally be able to do, and get mid season pollen onto very early bloomers.

 

Hasn’t been the best bloom season here because of the drought. Many Iris Soc members here report only 50-60% bloom.

The highlight of our bloom season was a visit by Robin Shadlow. Great fun.

Hi

I’m a bit late putting this up, as the South Aust Iris Show was 2 weeks ago. However one of my seedling florets was awarded Reserve Champion for the show.

This is very much a keeper, being a cross between Momentous Occasion and Freedom Flight.

Has 7-8 buds, and a good clean grower, nice branching.

Also this hadn’t been watered all spring and we’re in a drought. Has looked good every year.
