[PHOTO] TB: WISHFUL THINKING


This one is certainly a stunner.  Unfortunately, immediately after 
opening his first bloom, there was a major hatch of voracious, 
iris-flower loving, tiny black beetles that shredded his blooms before 
they could even make it out of the bud stage. I was lucky to get these 
shots before they destroyed the first flower!

WISHFUL THINKING (Keith Keppel, 1996) TB, 40-44", M. S. hyacinth blue 
(M&P 42-E-7) paling to vervain (42-B-6) edge, wood violet (42-K-10) 
texture veining; style arms vervain; F. paler silvery hyacinth (42-B-5 to 
42-A-4), chartreuse yellow (12-G-1) blending on haft; beards aureolin 
yellow (10-L-2), end lavender white; ruffled; pronounced sweet fragrance
