[PHOTO] TB: STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

Would that all Dykes Medal winners possessed this cultivar's
extraordinary attributes! Not only does it grace my garden with an
absolutely beautiful flower, but this plant shrugs off every challenge
thrown at it - compacted concrete clay, deer trampling and grazing,
minimal sun, dangerously frigid winter temps with virtually no snow
cover, extended cold springs with half-frozen soil and no opportunity for
early growth, rampant soft rot (to which STH seems entirely immune),
borers, leaf spot. There simply isn't anything that bothers this plant!
Not only does it survive under these conditions, it THRIVES. STH
increases abundantly and blooms on tall stalks. Hybridizers take note:
THIS is what I'm looking for!!!
