I strongly suspect that what you have now is what you will always have. When
you compare Mme Chereau to a modern TB, you are looking at more than 150
years of hybridizing effort. Size has probably always been a characteristic
that was considered desirable by the hybridizer.

This is a first year plant. She bloomed this spring with very tiny flowers
on a proportionately short stalk. I assume once she settles in another year
and acclimates to northern MN more fully, she'll grow up a bit. Certainly a
delicate little lady.
MME. CHEREAU (Limon, 1844) TB, 32", M. W2. Diploid from France. Milky white,
elegantly frilled with a wide border of clear blue; bluish beards, yellow
tip. Fragrant. HC
