Re: 'Tid-bit' - I. pallida cengialtii?

I have been reading some old records of early development of MTB and cengialtii certinaly had been used, and a short pallida clone as well.

On Tid-Bit the spathes do look pallida but the branching is low and wide, not the typical pallida look.

I've also been following up with reading and leave chromatography won't say if variegata is in plant genetics but still might be able to differentiate pallida with other genetics from pallida. I havn't seen any profiles of cengialtii thought and it might be different. The flower petals can differentiate pallida flowers from other flowers and hybrids but would require precice techniques.

I'll do some more detailed comparing with clones of I. pallida cengialtii, but this really does look as though it may be another clone of that taxon. It would be great to find some history for the plant. It might help shed a lot of light on just what it really is to know where it was from (beyond introducer and date).

Anyway, this clone looks like maybe another pathway for cengialtii genes to have gotten into the breeding lines.
