It certainly makes sense considering I live in a temperate rain forest climate with very heavy rains some years.......the frigid weather here doesn't seem to be a factor in survival of the irises I plant here (read not tender species).

Subject: Re: [iris-species] Iris tectorum El, I only lost my tectorum the winter before when we got heavy rain then frost before snow cover. Had them for many years successfully, with healthy neglect in different locations. Two pieces survived, then I had to move them last year again, and we will see. At least one looks alive, good snow cover this past winter. zone 4 here. |
