The fan and rhizome donât look at all like Iris virginica which is in a nearby
container. I agree it has to be a Hexagonae for sure. The whole wad
in the pot it is in was in a pot I got at a native plant sale. I have a
feeling the plants were dug from the wild in far northern Florida, because most
of them ended up being Iris pseudacorus. But, this piece of a Hexagonae
was at the edge of the wad, and I can extract it and put it in its own container
while the spent bloom stem is visible. I wonder if almost being choked out
by pseudacorus made it short? Mark
