HYB: question - aphylla, black, hafts

From discussion on iris-talk, black irises have cleaner hafts (less
conspicuous veining on light ground) than many other colors. I didn't
get a response to this question in that forum (yet) so thought I would
try here.

I've heard it said that the black pigmented irises trace back to I.
aphylla.

Just wondering... if black irises can contribute cleaner hafts, do most
non-black irises with a lot of aphylla ancestry have fairly clean hafts?

Compared to other species....

Thanks.
