Re: I'm Published

Thanks Liselotte!  Have a terrific holiday and Happy New Year to all too!

The yellow species form is rather a weed here in my garden too.  I always keep it deadheaded, especially since I still find seedlings in the spot I first had it planted in, even after 5 years.  The last few years, I've got a few named varieties, including a few white ones.

Jim,

Congratulations! What a beautiful scene, I am curious where you took this picture! Iris pseudacorus is native to Switzerland and protected, I wonder why (smile), it is the toughest weed in my garden! But how can you resist when they are in bloom?

With best wishes for the Holidays to all species Iris Friends!

Hey gang. I bought a copy of the new AIS 'Basic Iris Culture' 3rd Edition 2011. I thought it would make for light reading as I know most of this wether I practice it or not. I was reading 'Species Iris Culture' by Bob Pries on page 33. I thought the photo looked familiar and checked my files. It is a photo that I had submitted to the AIS Photo Contest in 2010 . What a surprise to see it in the Iris Culture booklet. And, no, it did not win, not even an Honorable Mention. There are no photo credits so I would never have known if I hadn't recognized the pic.
