Iris reticulata and its relatives are mostly high-altitude and therefore very cold-hardy. I. reticulata and I. danfordiaeÂare sold as fall-planted bulbs in practically every garden center, which probably attests to their adaptability to soil type. They're happy as long as they're sunny and dry. None of the commercial forms are as tiny as the one Ken's growing though!
