I am not familiar with this nursery. To answer some of Neil's questions also. The original diagnosis of kashmiriana was of a white Iris. Another form was named as Iris bartonii and it was a greenish white. Purples were apparently very rare early on. Most "wild" populations are supposed to be white. What is a wild population I am not sure most references seem to indicate that palnts from Kashmir came from cemetaries or gardens. It has even been speculated that it was never wild in Kashmir bought brought from somewhere else. Considering the early trade routes it could easily have been Mediterranean in origin.

Thanks for all the comments. Sounds like there are some unsolvable mysteries here. I wonder what are the chances of going back the original locations for I. kashmiriana (or contacting somebody who lives there) and collecting what is growing there. Here is one thing I stumbled across on line, but haven't had time to check it out. It would be interesting to find out just what is for sale here and try to import some of it to the US. Has anyone here bought plants from this source?Dave.
