Sisyrinchium striatum

Hi folks,
I sometimes pick up a free publication available in central New York
state, the Upstate Gardeners Journal. The current issue had a brief
article about the author's trip to England last May, and mentioned this
species as being virtually ubiquitous in gardens around London. A picture
shows it in bloom with TB's. She was wondering if it was hardy around
Rochester, which would be USDA 5. I checked out Dennis's web site which
says it should be hardy to -15F, and there are a couple of photos and some
brief snippets of information, but I would like to know if anyone out there
has personal experience with the plant and could possibly add some detail?
I also checked out the seed exchange records for the last couple of years,
and it has been available. I'm now curious enough to order some; with
cream colored flowers on Gladioulus like stems rising to what looks like
2-3 feet, this would be a nice addition to a lot of gardens.
