Re: Sisyrinchium striatum



I have grown both the species and the variegated 
cultivar 'Aunt Mae'. They both turned black and died at 
the first hard freeze. Only good as pot plants here.
 'Aunt Mae' is really cute and is worth the trouble of
 growing another dang house plant, if you are so inclined. 

So far the only yellow flowered sisyrinchium that
 is even close to hardy here is S. macrocarpum. It does
 well in Denver but has proven to be a challenge here
 in Missouri. I'm still trying to find the correct site to
 make it happy.
