Re: blue-eyed grass and borers

All,

Like Chuck, I also collect sisyrinchiums.  Please consider saving a few seed
from your local variety for the seed exchange even if you don't know the
species. 

My local one is S. pruinosum, I believe.  (They are very difficult to sort
out and are said to hybridize readily, adding to the confusion.)  It is not
weedy in that it does not invade the flower beds.  It would be fine with me
if it took over the yard. Imagine a "blue-eyed grass" lawn!
