Re: Spuria?

Morning Chuck, Jamie n all.

None of my other spurias are close to blooming yet.  This little beauty's foliage is more like a versicolour, but I'll take measurements, and take more pictures later today.  In my haste to take a picture of it last night, before the light faded, I only noticed 1 bloom stalk.  It's only been in my garden for 2 years, but does look like it's increased.  I was rather hasty last night in my 2 separate tries at a good photo, as the mosquitoes were suddenly out.

I was thinking the same thing.  I haven't seen anything quite like it either.

El, could you post picture of plant?

What is it's height?

What is it's bloom time compared to your other spuria?

Do put this down on your trade list with me.

Chuck Chapman

El,

it looks like a species, but I've not seen one quite like it.  Very delicate and elegant.  Do set some seed, as this would look great in my garden!  :-P      Maybe someone with more knowledge of the spurias can chime in.  A name would be nice.

This beauty was bloomng when I got home today.  It was given to me by a friend who says it's the first iris she saw as a child, growing around her Mother's and aunt's country places for well over 50 yrs.  That's about 60 or so miles west of here.

Does it look like a species spuria?
