Oh dear. I was so precariously balanced, and
that barberry was getting real persnickety, so I'm lucky my camera has a swivel
lens. This old body doesn't move like that anymore, so no, I didn't lean
down to catch any scent. It wasn't that warm out today either, so I
probably wouldn't have smelled much anyway.
I've been conscientiously trying to smell the iris
this year, especially when I was trying to id my unknown, Rhein Nixe, which does
have a light grape scent when my nose is about 2" from the flower.
I haven't smelled any iris as pleasing as an
old purple iris that mistakenly got left behind at my last place. You
could smell grapes 6 feet away from the clump.

grape stick candy. Does it have any fragrance?
