The tubs are so large I had to leave them out on the covered porch. However, when a hard freeze threatened, I would push them against the wall. If readings under -5 C were forecast, I would put a sheet over them.

Do you bring the tubs indoors? You could always try it but keep a division indoors, in case you loose them. I have no experience with these two outdoors. A friend here has overwintered and bloomed candida here in a protected location.

 Neomarica 'Regina' and Neomarica fluminensis gets so large it will outgrow the tubs I have them in. But, both are freeze tender.Â
 However, I wonder if I could remove them from the tubs, divide them, and grow them directly in the ground, but... ...in the winter, cover them to protect them from freeze. Would that work? Would they grow okay in sandy soil?
