What a difference climate can make: Kansas City and San Francisco are not that all different in latitude, yet here, the reticulatas are long gone. The first to open were the Katrherine Hodgkin and the danfordiae, starting mid-January; last were the reticulata. For one week, all three were open at once, looking very beautiful. By mid-February, it was all over. Now all I've got is a potful of still handsome leaves.
On the other hand, Iris suavelolens is in its full spring flowering -- the pot is totally covered with their blossoms.

Iris reticulata is jumping out of the ground and should begin flowering early next
week. At least a couple Juno iris are up, but only about an inch. So, is it spring yet?
