Dennis,
What Neomarica do you have? I have N. caerulea and N. northiana, and I've never been able to detect an oder from either of their blossoms. But, it may be that I'm insensitive to their odor. ( I read somewhere that most people have at least one odor blind spot.) Also, mine don't bloom until July. (But that could be because our wet winters don't end until April.)
