As someone has constructed aviaries out of all sorts of materials, I would advise against using bird mesh or any other poly/plastic material if the goal is keep any kind of rodent out. Rats, mice, chipmunks, squirrels, voles, etc. can make quick work of any plastic-based mesh.Â
