Re:Iris Colchesterensis


 

In his catalog of 1914, Wallace lists the following on page 21:
 
("Albopurpurea, as received from Japan is a beautiful form of the true Laevigata, the flowers have a white ground finely spotted with blue.....................2/6 each; 24/- doz.
 
" Colchesterensis, A.M., R.H.S., 1910, great improvement on the type, with larger flowers ofrich deep blue shaded with purple.....................Sold out this season")
