The question had been about a variety of kaempferi that was supposed to be hardy. I did not want to confuse things with a species of an entirely different group of Iris. The point I was making about Boring was one of climate and I believe it still applies whether I got the state wrong on not. Should I apologize to Oregon or Montana. Since my life has never been in Boring I hope the climatology was essentially correct.

Note to Bob Pries: I'm sure that life in some places in Montana is quite Boring........BUT Walter Marx had his gardens in Boring, OREGON.
