I my area and I guess lots of other areas open burning is against the law.
Promotes pollution.

Are you talking about some other way to burn them?

I compost mine and haven't had any boreres for two years. I just make sure
the Iris leaves are covered with 6" plus of other material. I do not turn
the compost bins ( back problems)
I sprayed with Cygon three years ago.
I don't grow that many so I can do a super good clean up fall and spring. I
think this works as good as spraying.
