I just looked up Mike's plant, it was Bewildebeast X Rock Star, very
similar to Gnu X luminata in terms of plicata genetics

So far it would seem that the zonals with the lighter pigments have a
white zonal spot and the ones with the darker pigments have almost no
"zonal" spot but are the same genetically. I'm still gathering
information on this. I have dark violet flowers with white beard from
a cross of two plicatas, as well as several unusual plicatas. I think
Mike had some self types (similar to yours) from his cross of Suky X
Fancy Woman. The best bet of course, would be to cross it with a
plicata and check the results. I will be doing a number of test
crosses to check out the genetic information further. I'm planning on
using my SDB glaciata Eramosa Snowball as it is a white glaciata
wihout any (as far as I can tell) confusing recesssive genes such as
recessve reduction of anthocyanin, which I suspect crops up with a
number of TBs
