Tom,
Don't be too quick to judge the performance of a cultivar on the basis of
limited experience. There are many variables involved in how well an iris
performs. If you give them your best care, you may be pleasantly surprised.
I have sometimes noticed that when someone says, "That iris won't grow in
this climate", they really mean, "It didn't do well for me."
By the way, there was a fabulous huge planting of Immortality in full bloom
at the Dallas Arboretum last spring.
