Greetings, and what a great list this is. I just signed up and have
been reading previous posts to catch up.
I am a relative newbie to irises. After discussing varieties with my
neighbors and with members of the Fort Worth Iris Society, it seemed
silly that I wasn't planting any! I've been in my present house for
three years and am learning to adapt my planting preferences to my
current soil and climate.
Have not planted any iris yet and am still researching. Til now I
have just been tending hundreds of narcissus (Carlton and Dutch
Master) already planted at this house that have been reblooming
faithfully for more than 40 years. I would very much love to hear
from Tom, Cliff or any of you in Zone 7 for recommendations for my
area. I'm just a tad north of Fort Worth. I'm looking for a TB
rebloomer with a pale flower and was considering Corn Harvest or
Total Recall. (Which is different than what my neighbors have had
success with, they prefer a darker bloom.) Also would like
recommendations on local purchasing sources (Dallas-Fort Worth area),
web sites and catalogs.
Oh! And one more thing: In my area, how late in the year can I expect
the foliage to stay up?
Thanks very, very much! Glad to be here.
Julie
