Hi Neil,

I must admit to loving deer. I'd prefer they not eat my irises, but
frankly, if it's a choice between losing a year of bloom or watching
Bambi starve to death, I can easier live without the bloom. In fact, I do
feed the deer corn every evening hoping to fill their bellies
sufficiently to save my irises. About all that's managed to do so far is
inspire them to hang around my yard in ever-increasing numbers. Oh well.

I think any such observable pigments would be helpful additions to the CL
descriptions. I don't understand why so many of the CL listings are so
brief. It seems to me that the AIS would want to maintain as in-depth
plant descriptions as possible in their files for purposes of positive
plant ID, both now and in the future.

Thanks, Neil. I knew you would. :-)
