Janet,

I am not familiar with Louise Bellagamba's bearded irises, not having grown
any. The only introductions of hers I have are Siberians, APPALOOSA BLUE
and PRESIDENT TRUMAN. both have very attractive flowers, though AB has not
been too vigorous here, and PT, while it puts up lots of stalks, has no
branching, and therefore its bloom season is brief.

You are right about the name - it has a lovely sound to it, but if I am
translating it correctly, it seems just a mite risque'.
