"Usually" and "should" are getting to be rare here as well. This
year, there were only two days of sun all November, the rain
providing for them what I tried to indoors first. But this is the
first week of sun, and it snowed at the end of March. Nothing to do
with the ozone layer or global warming, I'm sure. Nahhh.
Worse yet, I think the one sprout I had was not an iris. I lifted it
today to plant it next to its mother and there was a bulb attached to
its roots, with a long white tap root! The leaves look more like
daylily leaves than the sharply pointed iris leaves. Batting 000.
Which doesn't mean, of course, that I'm not busily ordering my next
batch, from careful planning of crosses.
