Mark,
I am so pleased you found something that works. I had a pair of rare black squirrels move in and one got on the highway and was run over. They are so small one can fit in your hand. They also mate for life so I expect to find the mate dead unless the female survived and was pregnant.. I stilll have the pair of red squirrels. They managed to tote off every single Walnut I missed and are now working on the pile on the driveway. they have dug a couple of holes near iris and daylilies but did not disturb the plants and I just smoothed the soil back into the hole. Hopefully, they will survive the summer.

Recently, I went to using a bait of peanuts [fresh] and sunflower seeds
in a small lid inside the trap. The result is that since April 5, I have
caught 10 squirrels and released them in a forested area a few miles outside
of town.
I am hoping this results in less digging in the Iris pots by those
little vandals.
