Mark,
Release the males and take the females out of town. Male squirrels will kill baby squirrels and make new ones. Females only make babies. You have to do a lot better than 10 to make any difference, try for a thousand.

Recently, I went to using a bait of peanuts [fresh] and sunflower seeds
in a small lid inside the trap. The result is that since April 5, I have
caught 10 squirrels and released them in a forested area a few miles outside
of town.
I am hoping this results in less digging in the Iris pots by those
little vandals.
