Welcome to Iris-Talk. Thanks for including your zone and
location. It helps a lot. Be sure and put that information on each post.
You will find it very helpful to read John Jones', (list owner)
list of rules and print them out. After 1 1/2 years, I still have to
refer to them regarding TAGS.
Can't help you re German Iris and Barbudo Iris but someone out
there will have that answer for you. We have some really knowledgeable
growers in Iris-talk!

The cleanser treatment you mentioned is used for rhizome rot.
Someone else needs to talk about that since I no experience.
As far as how much of the foliage should be cut when dividing and
replanting. . I trim mine down, leaving about 6 inches. This is done
primarily to prevent the wind blowing them over until the new roots take
hold. Others may have a different opinion.
