Re: Registration Requirements

It's about time for me to put my 2 cents worth in on a couple of topics.

First introduction: Dave & Nancy Silverberg ABBEY GARDENS, Molalla, Oregon.
Have been growing iris for many years and we are probably known in one way or
another to many of the members on the iris list. We grow now about 2400
varieties on 2 1/2 acres of our 5 acre piece. We were one of the gardens on
the '94 Portland Convention.

First on pronunciation - See Garden Irises, AIS 1959, page 513, gives the
pronunciation for pseudacorus as (soo-da'-kor-us). To my way of thinking it
would read and be spoken as pseuDAcorus.

Second on iris registration. Having judged many shows, as have many others in
this group, NOTHING goes on the show bench unless it has been registered with
the AIS!!
Exceptions are the seedling categories and UFO's (Unidentified Flowering
Objects).

Regards: Dave & Nancy
