Gee, Carolyn, you gotta get more poetic than ORPHENS? We label our unnamed
irises as "Landscaper Specials", or

Unnamed Beauties - Irises that thru time have become separated from
                                         their registered names!

We keep track of the color and sell mixed color bags, whites, blues, purples,
pinks, etc.
My local iris society The Portsmouth, Chesapeake, & Suffolk Iris society has
a display bed of bearded irises in Suffolk, VA of over 75 named varieties at
the City Courthouse. Gets us good publicity. We have a small sign telling of
our meeting dates and also that these irises are sold by the club. Every couple
of years we go in, divide them, sell the divisions, and replant them. This
little project gives us a good income and free publicity.

We also have a display bed of Japanese & Louisianas in the City Park of
Portsmouth and do the same thing there. With funds being cut back by cities
this is an excellent opportunity for any society to do the same thing. It saves
from having to buy them and re-sell them. Also it gives us a chance to evaluate
how they grow and do in the area.
