Thanks so very much, Art. I appreciate that information a lot. I was concerned
because it sounded like there could be some serious adhesion problems with the
metal. I'm sure there must be some finer points to this, maybe roughening the
surface of the pipe or something, but I'm game to try if I can get hold of
enough info.The local garden centers are selling the most simple vine supports
for a whopping lot of dough and I've got a whole bunch of antique rose
yearlings needing support and they deserve better than recycled tomato cages.
