Well, as with many things, yes and no. There is a MAIL ACK command as detailed
below. There is not a NO MAIL command but there is a POSTPONE command.
The command list as taken from the Tom Little Official Iris-L webpage is
duplicated below. We all get this when we subscribe.
SUBSCRIBE IRIS-L your name
adds your name and email address to this mailing list
UNSUB IRIS-L
drops you from the list (do not add your name; only these two words are needed)
REVIEW IRIS-L
gives you a list of everyone currently on the list
SET IRIS-L MAIL DIGEST
instructs the list processor to send you periodic digests of the list
messages, rather than each one individually as it is posted
SET IRIS-L MAIL POSTPONE
instructs the list processor to stop sending you messages until further notice
(handy when going on vacation)
SET IRIS-L MAIL ACK
returns to normal mode (cancels POSTPONE or DIGEST)
HELP
gives you a list of other LISTSERV commands
