I wish you could see DEPARTURE, too! Vicky sent me some pictures to look at
and I think this is one of the nicest little IBs I've seen, The stalk in the
photo had four open blooms: terminal, spur, and two branches. I like RAVE
REVIEW as well. It is a very pert little flower, and a lovley shade of rose. I
also saw a photo of MY SOUVENIR, a 1998 MTB. Palest lavender, with
exceptionally full form. All of them were very nice, indeed. And it is
interesting to hear the story about how they all came about, don't you think?
If, in the unlikely event that all you are growing is the big fellows, you
might give some serious thought to including some of the trinkets. I'm finding
that not only do they really look very good in a smaller space--in fact they
make it look larger-- but they add a very welcome variety of form to the
bearded iris planting if used around the perimeter. All this in addition to,
as they say, "extending the bloom season."
