HYB: mutants, inbreeding and plicata ???'s

This year I have several (< 50) seedlings from a cross of BREAKERS x
BREAKERS. Many of them were poor growers and showed almost albino leaves
- these were culled early. Several are very similar to Breakers - dark
blue self's. I have had 2 whites so far, both with a few random blue
"spots" , one of these has all flowers with 6 Falls, 6 Styles and no
Standards. So much for in-breeding.

A plicata question: I had noticed that Monty Byers had introduced
several iris which used Earl of Essex as a parent, I believe he was
using EoE as a rebloom carrier esp for Eastern climates, and not so much
for it's plicata contribution though he may have made use of this in
subsequent crosses. Anyways ... my question is about what colors a
plicata is likely to contribute to it's children when the plicata gene
is not expressed. Can I assume that the color of the plicata (or colors
in the case of a bicolor plic) is the likely dominant color for this
Iris, or are there other color genes which are "hidden" when the plicata
gene is expressed ?

These questions came up when I was planning crosses using Ghio's CHATTER
( a mulberry/peach reblooming fancy plicata) and could not make a good
guess as to it's genotype given the complicated line breeding it results
from.
