Francelle: If those are mealy bugs, there are a couple of cheap, simple, easy solutions. (No pun intended there!) You can get rid of them with rubbing alcohol, which won't harm your iris at all, or insecticidal soap. I think a spray of dishwasher detergent or a mild soap like Ivory flakes or some such will do the trick, too. We've used all these on house plants, and they've worked like a charm.
