More about planting the heel, / the back of the rhizome -- if that is not
planted INTO the soil, the leaves have a tendency to tilt the whole plant
forward, and thus helps it to heave! At least that is my idea and method, also --
and I do like to have at least a space the size of a quarter / fifty-cent piece
(depending on size of the rhizome) exposed to the sun -- so all of the "toes"
in my garden point South! ! !
Ellen, I really missed seeing you (I always enjoy your humor) since I didn't
get to National! How can you manage with all that snow! Guess that shows
my age, by not enjoying it. I do admire the fresh beauty of the "newly fallen
snow", but it means I'm definitely housebound! Rosalie nr Baltimore zone 7 ?
