We are off to a terrific start on rebloom this year. I have had
something in bloom almost every day thanks to the July bloom on the
newly imported Blyths..
Right now we have : 'Violet Classic' (which has the umbrata pattern
on the underside of the falls)
'Blueberry Tart'
'Cantina' (Not actual rebloom as it declined to
make an appearance this spring, but apparently overheard me
complaining that not only did it not rebloom for me, but it had never
even bothered to bloom. That's one way to get two stalks in a hurry.)
The most frequent bloomer here has been 'Autumn Jester.' It bloomed
this spring and has had four additional stalks since then. Very nice.
'July Yellow' has qualified as official rebloom now even though it
skipped spring. I had three or four stalks come one after another.
'Golden Encore' rebloomed on two different clumps.
'Pinkness' rebloomed, and I had a pod set only to lose it today to
that rot. Kelly wasn't kidding about it being unusual to get 13" of
rain in July.
'Diamond Blush' has a stalk, but it just arrived here from another
location in Nebraska so it's not an official rebloom here, but looks
promising.
'Oxmoor Hills' also bloomed here in August, and did rebloom in a
friend's garden which is also zone 5. If the photo archives get
repaired, I will post a shot of the stalk.
Someone asked if 'Peach Jam' is a rebloomer. It is, there are
rebloom reports in zone 5 for it, but it hasn't rebloomed yet for
me. It's right in the middle of the mini Vale of Despond that I have
going here. So I will be happy if it survives, much less reblooms.
Since most of my rebloom usually happens in October, I am looking for
a great season. We have had two very cool nights into the 50's so I
think that many will be triggered sooner than usual.

where I learned something new last night... when you are letting your
10 year old try and use the fork to dig it is best not to be leaning
over any too close to the clump she's digging !!!
