Jim and everyone,
There are a couple of iris places not too far from Camarillo:
1) Iris Hill Farm in Santa Margarita, just north of San Luis Obispo, right
off Hwy 101, (805) 438-3070 and
2) Scott's Iris Gardens, about 3 minutes away from Iris Hill in Atascadero
(805) 438-5162
Although they are both in Sunset's zone 7 (zone 9 on the government chart)
and aren't quite as coastal as Camarillo (no citrus, no bougainvillea), they
are both gorgeous places to visit for anyone heading up or down the coast in
the spring. Iris Hill sells only potted irises, but Scott's does mail order
as well. Great people at both places. And they may be able to tell you which
are your best bets for coastal rebloom since they have Morro Bay, Pismo
Beach, Lompoc clientele.
Mary Forte (jforte21@aol.com) in Atascadero, CA where Crimson King finally
got sick of all those 100+ days and quit blooming (sigh).
