Linda - I do not, nor does anybody (except the Awards Chairman) know who
voted for what. What I was referring to was the total number of AIS
judges per region, split up by parts of the country - ie Region 13,14,15
comprises the "West Coast". Region 1,2,3,4 etc. the "East Coast. The
point I was making was that the west coast does not have a huge block of
votes so that they can control the Dykes voting. The letters "A" =
Apprentice, "RM" = Retired Master , both can not vote the ballot. Only
Garden, Active Master, and Emeritus judges can vote.
As far as deciding what to purchase - use the Symposium results from your
region and the total AIS number. Also attend conventions both regional
and national. I prefer to have a group of local people sit down and have
a "feeding frenzy" of recent intros, grow them and see what happens. I
do not buy anything that isn't 3 years old at least. (Of course, I will
grow anything that is donated, like say from a hybridizer for testing
purposes.
Does that answer your ?
