Kathyguest is ALSO not remotely a Board member, but has to tabulate this as
RVP for Region 2... and I also tabulate the JI ballots... which have NO
pre-selected cultivars
Let me put it this way... if I get 10 ballots, I get 100 different cultivars
named - if I get 20, 200 DIFFERENT cultivars... etc.
Now, that's not true, of course, there's lots of duplications - especially
during a convention year, but the point is, can you imagine how many
cultivars would be named (WERE named), when people could select randomly?
AND I don't believe any iris really benefitted from that - I mean, who KNEW,
except the voter, that SUPER IRIS got a vote?
