In the book world, this whole sorry saga would roughly equate to the following:
you notice an old book with its covers and title page missing. A fragment
of text catches your eye and you sit down for a quiet afternoon read. When
finished you exclaim, "Wow, that's good stuff."

It is old book and you don't know who wrote it or when it was published.
However, you believe it is of interest to a wide audience and is valuable.
Therefore, you decide that you should rename the book, have it reprinted
and publish it.

End of story.
buy it, grow it or trade it; be aware that you are dealing with the
horticultural equivalent of a purloined letter.
