Hi all,
A while back, before the lights went out in iris-l land, someone asked
about a source for Wabash in Australia (Sonya, Simone, Sue???). Ann
Jackson was good enough to advertise in the Victorian iris society
newsletter, and I received a letter from a lady in South Australia, who
has this, and other historic iris growing in her garden. She will send
me a start of it, and if whoever asked about it will write to me, I will
pass the address on. I am keen now, to find out what other older iris
she has growing.
It's a lovely sunny winters day here in central Victoria, and, with rain
expected in the next few days, I'm going to spend the day in the garden.
Daffodils are blooming, 'Mountain Violet' and 'Catalyst' are putting up
very early bloom stalks, the grass needs mowing and the weeds need
pulling. The world is a lovely place.
I wonder if I deliberately tried to grow weeds, would flowers grow
everywhere and choke them out?
Cheers, Jan Clark, Australia
